Independent Contractor to Serve As Needed

Following the March 29 executive session, the Freeman City Council took action with regard to the position of municipal finance officer. Motion by Blaine Saarie, second by Lonnie Tjaden to hire Tobias Schanz as an independent contractor to serve in the role of interim finance officer, as needed, at a rate of $50 an hour, plus mileage. All votes aye.

Schanz currently serves as finance officer for the City of Crooks, SD; his time spent in this role during a transitional time period is anticipated to be minimal.
