April 12 Election for Ward 2 Council Seat

Friday, February 25, at 5 PM marked the deadline for filing a petition to run for municipal office. Two individuals have filed petitions for one 2-year council term in Ward 2. A municipal election on Tuesday, April 12 will feature incumbent Steve “Charly” Waltner and challenger Terry Waterman.

The following individuals, having turned in valid petitions with no opponents, will be sworn in when the new council convenes in May: Mayor Michael Walter will continue in his role of mayor for 2 more years. Charlie Gering will return to represent Ward 1 on the council for a term of 2 years. For Ward 3, Tabitha Schoenwald will continue to serve after filing a petition for a 1-year term, while Doug Uecker file a petition to serve a 2-year term.

Council president Blaine Saarie and councilor Clifford “Lonnie” Tjaden each have one more year in their current terms of office. Councilor Terry Jacobsen did not seek re-election.
