DANR Recognizes Freeman for Drinking Water Compliance

PIERRE - The South Dakota Department of Agriculture & Natural Resources (DANR) announced that the City of Freeman’s public water system & the system’s operation specialist have been awarded Drinking Water Certificates of Achievement.

“We cannot live without access to safe & reliable drinking water,” said DANR Secretary Hunter Roberts. “This award is a testament to the hard work & dedication of South Dakota’s drinking water system operators & their efforts to ensure their customers have access to clean drinking water.”

The City of Freeman’s operational specialist is Duane Walters.

To qualify for the Drinking Water Certification of Achievement Award, public water systems & their system operations specialists had to meet all of the compliance monitoring & reporting requirements, drinking water standards, & certification requirements for 2020.
