Bids for Main Street Reconstruction Accepted Through 2 PM on March 16

The City of Freeman has received approval from the the South Dakota Department of Transportation & the Department of Agriculture & Natural Resources to advertise for bids for the reconstruction of Main Street. The project will span from North County Road to Fifth Street; a portion of Railway Street is also included.

The official notice will appear in this week’s edition of The Courier. Bids will be accepted through 2 PM on Wednesday, March 16, with bid opening taking place at City Hall at 2:15 PM that day.

Freeman native Paul Korn of Sayre Associates serves as the lead engineer for the project that was awarded $600,000 from the SD DOT in December. Freeman’s grant proposal received the highest score among those submitted for Community Access Grant consideration.
