Winter Storm & Dec. 10 Garbage Collection

The City of Freeman is in the path of a winter storm. Please know that based on the predicted timing of the heaviest snow, we plan to move forward as usual with our Friday, Dec. 10 garbage collection route serving properties south of Sixth Street. We ask that garbage receptacles be moved back away from the street as soon as possible after collection in preparation for clearing snow from the streets. Information regarding the calling of a “Snow Emergency” and plowing of streets will be made available via multiple avenues, including this website, The Courier website at FreemanSD.com, the City of Freeman’s Facebook page, the Freeman Development-Experience Freeman Facebook page, our citywide call & text notification system, KELO, & Dakota News Now. In the event of a “Snow Emergency,” City ordinance requires all vehicles to be removed from streets until snow has been removed.
