Property in the 18-lot Westward View Addition - made possible through the collaborative efforts of the Freeman Growth Foundation, the Freeman Community Development Corporation & the City of Freeman - is expected to be made available to purchasers/home builders on Aug. 1. The project is under the direction of Stockwell Engineers.
Freeman's Main Street - from North County Road to Fifth Street - is being completely reconstructed for the first time since 1953. This multi-million-dollar city project was awarded $600,000 of funding from the South Dakota Department of Transportation & is headed up by Sayre Associates. Work in the business district is expected to be completed in early August. The project also includes the reconstruction of several blocks of street adjacent to Main Street.
All Main Street business continue to welcome patrons through alternate entrances during regular hours, with parking available along side streets, in alleys, & in marked lots.
