Railway Closure from Juniper to Main Street Beginning April 27
As the City of Freeman’s Main Street reconstruction project gets underway, please note that Railway Street from Juniper to Main will be closed to traffic for an extended period of time, beginning on Wednesday, April 27. Work will begin with storm sewer and sanitary sewer upgrades at the intersection of Railway & Juniper.
Clear communication provided in a timely manner throughout this reconstruction process is a priority. Information related to traffic route changes or interruptions to services will be communicated directly with business owners & others impacted. Please refer to this website for updates; information will be made available via additional communication avenues, as well.
Freeman’s Main Street businesses will remain open to patrons, as usual, with ADA access maintained to all impacted businesses as reconstruction of Freeman’s Main Street - from storefront to storefront - takes place.
The first phase of the project spans Main Street from Railway to Fifth Street & is scheduled for a July 29 completion date. A November 5 completion date is projected for the second phase of the project which will focus on Main Street from Railway to North County Road; also included will be the blocks of Third Street & Fourth Street that are directly adjacent to Main Street.
Sayre Associates serves as the project engineer, with Reede Construction as the main contractor.
