Front Entrance of City Hall Reopens

With the completion of asphalt street paving and cement work for new sidewalks along Third Street, the front entrance of Freeman’s City Hall is once again open & accessible to patrons.

On September 29, the east door of City Hall along Poplar Street was made available as a temporary entrance while reconstruction work was taking place directly in front of City Hall. The east entrance provided access to the administrative offices, the council room & police department. Neighboring CorTrust Bank served as an additional collection point for bill payments to the City of Freeman while the 24/7 drop box at City Hall was inaccessible.

The removal of street barricades at Main Street intersections on November 9 - for the most part - marks the completion of a multi-million dollar project that began closing off portions of streets on April 27.

Street lights for the business district are on back order & not anticipated to be installed until later, with availability currently projected to be at some point in the month of June.. In the meantime, temporary lighting is in place.
